Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken Skewers

Date:

Summer is grilling season, and there’s nothing quite like the smoky aroma of chicken sizzling on the grill. But sometimes, you crave a little something extra, a touch of sweetness and tang to elevate your grilling game. Enter these irresistible Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken Skewers – a delicious and easy dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual outdoor gathering.

The secret lies in the marinade. A simple blend of honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, and a touch of paprika creates a flavorful glaze that caramelizes beautifully on the grill. The chicken, tender and juicy, soaks up the marinade, resulting in a delightful harmony of sweet, savory, and smoky notes.

Ingredients:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

 1/4 cup honey

 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

 1 clove garlic, minced

 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and black pepper to taste

12 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, for the flavors to meld.

3. Preheat your grill to medium heat.

4. Thread the chicken cubes onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.

5. Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.

6. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.

Tips:

For added flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or a sprinkle of herbs to the marinade.

If you don’t have wooden skewers, you can use metal skewers.

Serve these skewers with a side of your favorite grilled vegetables, a refreshing salad, or a creamy potato salad.

Beyond the Basics:

Experiment with different marinades! Try a tangy balsamic glaze, a spicy sriracha sauce, or a citrusy lime marinade.

For a more substantial meal, add bell peppers, onions, or pineapple chunks to your skewers.

These skewers are also great for meal prepping – cook a large batch and store in the fridge for easy weeknight dinners.

Enjoy these delightful Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken Skewers and embrace the flavors of summer!
