Product Review: LG ThinQ BrewView Pro

Date:

Introduction

LG has long been a leader in home appliances and entertainment systems, and with the release of the ThinQ BrewView Pro in March 2025, they’ve taken a bold step into the world of smart coffee makers. This innovative device combines LG’s expertise in display technology with advanced coffee brewing capabilities, all wrapped up in a sleek, kitchen-friendly package. The ThinQ BrewView Pro promises to deliver barista-quality coffee while keeping you entertained and informed through its integrated smart TV functionality. In this review, we’ll examine how well LG has managed to blend these diverse technologies and whether the result is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

Review

The LG ThinQ BrewView Pro makes an immediate impression with its elegant, minimalist design. The front of the unit is dominated by a 27-inch 4K OLED display, which serves as both a control interface for the coffee maker and a fully-fledged smart TV. Below the screen, a discrete panel houses the coffee brewing components, including a conical burr grinder, water reservoir, and dual brewing heads for simultaneous preparation of different drinks.

One of the most striking features of the BrewView Pro is its “X-Ray Brew” technology. Using a combination of cameras and AI image processing, the system provides a real-time, x-ray-like view of the brewing process on the display. You can watch as water percolates through the coffee grounds, with the AI highlighting extraction rates and providing insights into the brewing process. While this might seem gimmicky at first, we found it to be both educational and oddly mesmerizing, adding a new dimension to the coffee-making experience.

The coffee brewing capabilities of the ThinQ BrewView Pro are impressive. The system offers a wide range of customization options, from adjustable grind sizes and water temperatures to pre-infusion times and pressure profiles. During our testing, we were consistently impressed by the quality of the coffee produced, with espressos featuring rich crema and pour-overs demonstrating excellent clarity and flavor separation.

LG’s AI-powered “TasteID” system is another standout feature. By analyzing your brewing preferences and flavor ratings over time, it creates a personalized taste profile and suggests new recipes or bean origins that align with your palate. We found this feature to be surprisingly accurate, introducing us to new coffee experiences that we might not have discovered on our own.

The smart TV functionality of the BrewView Pro is powered by LG’s webOS platform, offering a smooth and intuitive user experience. The 4K OLED display delivers stunning picture quality, with deep blacks and vibrant colors that make watching tv exciting.
