The Co-op launches new female-led business network

The Co-op, one of the UK’s largest and most well-known retailers, has recently launched a new female-led business network aimed at promoting diversity and inclusivity within the organization. The network, known as “LeadHers,” is intended to provide support, mentorship, and networking opportunities for women in leadership positions or those aspiring to take on leadership roles within the Co-op.

LeadHers will be led by a diverse group of female leaders within the Co-op, who have been appointed to serve as ambassadors for the network. The ambassadors will work together to develop and implement initiatives that will support the professional development and advancement of women within the organization.

The launch of LeadHers comes at a time when gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace are more important than ever. Research has shown that companies with diverse leadership teams are more profitable and innovative, and are better positioned to attract and retain top talent. By creating a space for women to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another, the Co-op is not only supporting the growth and development of its female employees, but also setting an example for other organizations to follow.

Speaking about the launch of LeadHers, the Co-op’s CEO, Jo Whitfield, stated, “We are committed to creating a culture that is inclusive and empowering for all of our colleagues, and LeadHers is just one of the many initiatives we are implementing to achieve that goal. By providing women with the tools and support they need to succeed, we are not only investing in the future of our organization, but also contributing to a more diverse and inclusive society as a whole.”

The Co-op’s LeadHers network is just the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at promoting diversity and inclusivity within the organization. With the support of senior leadership and a dedicated group of female ambassadors, LeadHers is sure to have a positive impact on the professional development and advancement of women within the Co-op.
