As I sat in the emergency room of a Spanish hospital, clutching my abdomen in agony, I couldn’t help but think about how quickly a dream vacation can turn into a nightmare. My husband and I had been looking forward to our trip to Spain for months, and everything had been going smoothly until that fateful evening. We had spent the day exploring the beautiful city of Barcelona, indulging in delicious tapas and wine, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. But as we were getting ready for dinner, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach that left me breathless.

At first, I tried to brush it off as a minor issue, thinking it might be food poisoning or a stomach bug. But as the pain intensified and I began to feel dizzy and nauseous, my husband insisted that we head to the hospital. I was hesitant at first, not wanting to ruin our vacation with a trip to the ER.
