It’s been a whirlwind week here at Founder HQ, filled with product launches, investor calls, and (of course) the usual startup chaos. But amidst the hustle, there’s always time for a little bit of inspiration and, well, a good meal.
This week, my Founder Files focuses on three things that have been keeping me going:
1. A curated Substack reading list:
Let’s face it, we all have a million things vying for our attention these days. So, when it comes to staying informed and inspired, I’ve found that a well-curated Substack reading list is invaluable. Here are a few of my current favorites:
The Browser: This weekly newsletter dives into a diverse range of topics, from psychology to technology to art. Each issue features a curated selection of articles, essays, and podcasts, offering a glimpse into the minds of some of the world’s most interesting thinkers.
Stratechery: For all things tech and business strategy, Ben Thompson’s Stratechery is a must-read. He provides insightful analysis and sharp commentary on the industry’s biggest players and emerging trends.
The Hustle: This daily newsletter offers a quick, digestible dose of business news, tech trends, and startup insights. It’s a great way to stay in the loop without getting bogged down in information overload.
2. Stylish melamine tableware:
Yes, you read that right. Melamine. I know, it sounds like something you’d find at your grandma’s house. But hear me out. Melamine has undergone a serious makeover in recent years, and there are now some seriously stylish options available. This is especially important for us founders, as we often find ourselves juggling work with family life.
My favorite brands for stylish melamine are:
Marimekko: This Finnish brand is known for its vibrant prints and playful designs, and their melamine line is no exception. They offer everything from plates and bowls to serving trays and mugs, all in a variety of bold colors and patterns.
Duralex: This French brand is a classic for a reason. Their melamine is durable, dishwasher-safe, and comes in a range of timeless designs. Plus, it’s ridiculously affordable!
Mud Pie: If you’re looking for something a bit more whimsical, Mud Pie is the way to go. Their melamine features playful patterns and charming details, perfect for adding a touch of personality to your table.
3. Brisket sliders:
Let’s be honest, sometimes the only thing that can get us through a grueling day is a delicious meal. And this week, that meal was brisket sliders. This is a simple but satisfying recipe that can be made in advance, perfect for busy weekdays.
I love serving my brisket sliders with a tangy coleslaw and a creamy avocado sauce.
In short, these are a few of the things keeping me going this week. What are some of your favorite ways to stay inspired, organized, and fueled as a founder? Share your tips in the comments below!
