Concord High School recently announced an innovative initiative to support student well-being and academic excellence. The school has introduced a new program called “Mindful Mondays,” which encourages students to start their week with mindfulness exercises designed to reduce stress and enhance focus. According to Principal Sarah Warren, the program aims to create a more balanced and positive school environment.
In other news, the Concord School District has received a significant grant from the state government to enhance its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. This funding will be used to upgrade laboratory equipment, provide professional development for teachers, and introduce new technology-based learning tools. Superintendent Dr. James Bennett emphasized the importance of equipping students with vital skills needed for future careers in STEM fields.
Additionally, Concord Middle School’s robotics team recently won first place at the regional competition and will be advancing to the state finals. The team, led by Coach Maria Lopez, impressed judges with their innovative design and teamwork. This achievement highlights the district’s commitment to fostering talent in extracurricular activities as well as academics.
Lastly, Concord Elementary School will be launching a reading buddy program this month. Upper-grade students will pair up with younger peers to read together once a week. Literacy Coordinator Jane Smith mentioned that the goal is to cultivate a love of reading and improve literacy rates across all grade levels.
