Cotswolds Distillery has released a special single malt whisky, “Highgrove Royal Gardens Edition”, celebrating the iconic gardens of Prince Charles’ Highgrove Estate. This limited-edition bottling pays homage to the natural beauty and sustainable practices of the gardens, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to The Prince’s Foundation.
The whisky, bottled at 46% ABV, has been matured for four years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. It boasts a rich, layered flavour profile, showcasing notes of ripe apple, pear, and honey, with hints of cinnamon and oak. The distillery notes a “unique and complex character” resulting from the interaction of the English barley, Cotswolds spring water, and the special oak barrels.
The “Highgrove Royal Gardens Edition” is presented in a beautiful bottle adorned with a specially designed label featuring the royal coat of arms and a vibrant depiction of the gardens. This intricate detail further emphasizes the connection to the Highgrove Estate and its dedication to sustainability.
The launch of this special release coincides with the 50th anniversary of The Prince’s Foundation. This collaborative effort between Cotswolds Distillery and the foundation highlights their shared commitment to environmental stewardship and promoting sustainable practices within the whisky industry.
“Highgrove Royal Gardens Edition” is available for purchase online and at select retailers. Whisky enthusiasts and collectors alike are eager to experience this unique single malt, offering a taste of both the Cotswolds’ craftsmanship and the beauty of Highgrove’s gardens. The limited availability of this special release further adds to its allure, ensuring that it becomes a coveted addition to any whisky collection.
