You Charmed Me Into Making You A Regular’: Hawaii Five-0 Team Pays Tribute After Taylor Wily’s Death At 56

The Hawaii Five-0 family is mourning the loss of one of its beloved cast members, Taylor Wily, who passed away at the age of 56. Wily, who played the lovable and loyal Kamekona Tupuola on the popular CBS drama, left an indelible mark on the show and the hearts of his colleagues.

As news of Wily’s passing spread, the Hawaii Five-0 team took to social media to pay tribute to their dear friend and co-star. Alex O’Loughlin, who plays Steve McGarrett on the show, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying, “Taylor, you charmed me into making you a regular. Your humor, your heart, and your generosity will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Daniel Dae Kim, who played Chin Ho Kelly on the show, also expressed his condolences, tweeting, “Taylor Wily was a kind soul and a talented actor. He brought so much joy and warmth to our set every day. I’ll miss him dearly. RIP, Taylor.”

Wily’s character, Kamekona, was a fan favorite on the show, known for his witty one-liners and his unwavering loyalty to the Five-0 team. He appeared in over 70 episodes of the series, becoming an integral part of the show’s fabric.

Showrunner Peter Lenkov remembered Wily as a “gentle giant” who brought a sense of calm and humor to the set every day. “Taylor was more than just a talented actor – he was a kind and gentle soul who made everyone feel welcome and valued,” Lenkov said in a statement. “He will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of working with him.”

Wily’s passing is a tremendous loss for the Hawaii Five-0 family, but his legacy will live on through the countless memories and moments he brought to the show. As O’Loughlin so eloquently put it, “You charmed me into making you a regular” – a testament to Wily’s undeniable charm and talent.

Rest in peace, Taylor Wily. You will be deeply missed.
